Rwy12 ObjectPlacer V1.1 Installation
====================================

Upon the request of many people who downloaded version 1.0 of Rwy12 Object Placer we decided to allow the installation of this new version to be manually. In the first version we also included third party programs, because we thought it will make life easier for the users. We changed that now and you will have to download these programs by yourself from links we give here.

1. Compatibility between version 1 and version 1.1
==================================================
The new version includes a new exe file (program icon), additional libraries and some changes in old libraries. These changes will not effect sceneries you made in the past with the old version. You can also edit XML files created with version1.0

2. New Installation
===================
Open the zip file to any folder of your choice, except a program folder or FS2004. Unzip the file and you will find the following folders;
Rwy12 Object Placer
Rwy12
Img
Tenplates
Tutorials
Static Objects Library
Scenery
Texture

Rwy12 Object Placer installation;
=================================
1. Copy Rwy12 Object Placer folder into your local disk [C:\] – Rwy12 is a stand alone program and does not need to be placed in the programs folder.
2. Copy Static Objects Library folder, with it’s two sub-folders, Scenery and Texture, into your FS2004 [X:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery]. Normally your flight simulator will reside in C:\ but If your FS2004 is in a different directory, then place it there.
3. Open FS2004 and go to Setting\Scenery Library\Add Area , select Addon Scenery\Static Objects Library. click OK to add the library as a new scenery and close FS2004. Next time you start the simulator the new scenery will be activated. (Static Objects Library is a virtual scenery where all the objects and their textures are kept, without it Rwy12 will not function).
4. Go to folder Rwy12 and you will see there the program icon, right click on it and then left click on Create Shortcut, a new icon will appear . Copy that icon to your desktop. You will need it there to work with the program.
5. Keep the Tutorial and Templates folders wherever convenient for you. We recommend to keep them in the Rwy12 Object Placer folder. They do not effect the program

Additional Must Have Software
=============================
In order to run Rwy12 Object Placer you need three additional programs, If your PC has WinXP O\S then create a Restore Point before installing these programs (just in case….). Hope you trust good old Microsoft;

1. Microsoft's MSXML4. You can download this program from Microsoft download center; http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3144b72b-b4f2-46da-b4b6-c5d7485f2b42&displaylang=en You have to download and install only the msxml.msi file (5,166 kb). You will find the file at the end of the download page. (the program is language sensitive, so chose your O\S language). Download the program to any folder you wish (except FS9 and Programs) and then activate it by double clicking on the installer and follow the instructions. If the program is already residing on your machine, you will be advised during installation not to continue.

2. Microsoft's Dotnetfx NET framework. The 23,698 kb program can be downloaded directly from Microsoft Download Center; http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3&DisplayLang=en Download dotnetfx.exe (the program is language sensitive, so chose your O\S language) and save it to any folder you wish (except FS9 and Programs), then run the installation by double clicking on the icon and follow instruction. If the program is already residing on your machine, you will be advised during installation not to continue.

3. FSUIPC by Pete Dowson. You can download the free version at http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html (latest version 3.411). After download copy the dll file into FS9\Modules folder. This program connects Rwy12 Object Placer with FS2004. If you have a registered version of FSUIPC, don’t replace it!!!! Rwy12 will also work with previous versions of FSUIPC.

Additional Optional Software
============================
We recommend to download an additional program, but it is not a must, namely AFCAD by Lee Swordy. This program will enable you to see, while in slew mode, where AI Traffic aircraft are parked or taxi, so you will not place objects on those spots. You can download the latest version of the program (afcad221.zip) from SurClaro.com (http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=&FileName=&Author=lee+swordy&CatID=root) and SurClaro http://www.SurClaro/cgi/kdl/main/58/afcad221.zip?9oqSz01z
We tested the program with WinXP only, but we believe it will work with other Microsoft O/S too. A number people told us, after installing ver.1 of Rwy12 Object Placer, that having Microsoft SP2 on their machines caused problems with Dotnetfix. So if you have SP2 on your machine, please make sure you have created a restore point before installation.

3. Updating Previous Version 1
==============================
1. Delete the older version which resides on your [C:\] drive. You can back it up before deleting.
2. Delete the files in your [X:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\ Static Objects Library\Scenery and \Texture] and replace them with the new version as explained above. Again, you can backup the files before installing the new version.
3. Keep all XML and BGL files you created with Rwy12 Object Placer before installing the new version. Same goes for Rwy12 sceneries you downloaded.
4. Do not change anything in the third party programs you downloaded in the past (Dotnetfix, MSXML4, FSUIPC and AFCAD).

4. Un-Installation
==================
Microsoft programs by returning to an earlier Restore Point
Delete all files\folders created in C:\Rwy12 Object Placer
Delete all files created in (X):\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\addon scenery\scenery and \texture.
Open FS2004 and go to Setting\Scenery Library\Delete Area , and delete the Static Objects Library
